If it ran once, it will run again!
It sounds like a fuel feed problem...as a quick test, pour a little fuel into carbs, and try to restart...if it does, runs for a few seconds then quits, this confirms fuel feed problem... as JohnMc states, check pump for output...you may also want to remove the fuelbowl tops and check for fuel...if there's fuel, it kindof confirms the pump is working, but suggests the fuel has turned into octane-less horsep**s (especially if fuel in the bowls smells stale...this also suggests the "parked for three years" is an underestimate...also typical!!). Engine wont run very well on this stuff if at all...dry out the bowls, blast some carb cleaner through the jet delivery tubes to clear them out, fill bowls with fresh fuel, then feed the fuelpump through a hose run into a seperate jug of fresh fuel...choke, restart...if car runs fine, drain tank and use this crap to kill the weeds between your walkway...that's about all its good for...better file an environmental impact statement with the EPA before you do that though (and before the next time you expell methane too)!
Good Luck
