fuel and fuel sensor replacement 200 1983

No, not at all. I have never disconnected a battery either. Do make sure that you blow off the top of the sender real good before you pop the seal so as not to get too much crap in the tank when you pop it open. The biggest hassle of doing pre pumps and senders is in getting them in and out with out popping the ping pong ball float off. If you do it is easter egg dipping time, bend a coat hanger into the classice easter egg dipping tool and try to retrieve your float. If you are lucky you will be low on fuel and it will drop into the bucket inside the tank. If you are not lucky, then you will be low on fuel and it will not drop into the bucket and then you can be really screwed. So just take your time and it will come out fine. Oh yeah, put a little lube on the seal when you twist it back into place.
