Check Engine Light 200 1990

I think your friend was just guessing, and yes it could be the fuel pump amongst a few other things. The first thing to do is pull the fault code, that will point you in the right diagnostic direction. If the car now run rough you probably have 2 problems, the original one and now a self inflicted one.

Was the check engine cleared after the work was done? It does not just go out automagically.

There is much info in 700/900 FAQ section on pulling the codes, it will be the same for your 200.
