There's some amazing stuff in that filmstrip... setting the valves with the engine running -- how did that work?!
On our cars we can use a light bulb to set static timing, but the hookup is different. One side of the circuit connects to the coil/points/condensor junction (or clips onto the moving side of the points, like in the filmstrip), and the other side is the battery + . As the motor is turned, you'd set the timing by watching the light go OUT, not turn on.
And thankfully, we don't have to mess with the manual advance lever adjustment.
