A/C strikes again S90-V90 1997

Sounds like the bearing, mine went out very gradualy, starts out like a sqeel and ended freezing up , snaping the serpentine belt. There is no bypas for this arangement. A new compressor isn't cheep.

Do you have the protective pan under the engine? (mine didn't) if not water can get splash into the bearings of the compressor and ruin it.
