Are all M46s the same? 200

Some years ago, I replaced the M46 on my 1980 wagon. The guy who sold me the replacement unit said that it had come from a 740 turbo--that the trans installed in 700 series turbos were sturdier than others because they had roller bearings at every shaft support where other M46s had bushings in some places.

Is this true?
