1973 145 D-Jetronic. Very erratic idle. A challengine problem. 140-160

How is your auxiliary air valve? I've had several that were duds - didn't
work at all. Sounds like yours might be working too well, or perhaps the
idle was set cold and you should have waited for it to warm up.

The aux air valve makes it idle fast until the engine gets warm and then
it closes, making the idle slower.
