When you take the pan off be sure to clean the magnets in the pan, they can hold a lot of shavings. I hope that the filter and system flush( as noted in the faq's concerning this procedure) along with a new PNP switch will solve your problem. My fingers are crossed for you. With you being out side of the country I don't know which way to direct you towards a new tranny or a used one for that manner. Here in the states I use Erie Vovo.com (thats the way it's spelled) for used parts but I don't know what for you to do where you are. Be sure to do a complete system flush as noted in the faq's to get all the old fluid out of there before trying to take off. You have me worried about the smell you are describing, you may have very well cooked something.
Good Luck
Poolman
