I removed one from a junkyard 240 some time ago to replace the one I messed up during intake manifold removal in our 83. (The messed one is still working - but I better replace soon - I'm tempting fate.)

If you remove the underdash pad you will see how the cable end that comes through the firewall attaches to the pedal assembly. It's pretty straightforward though access is awkward.
