A problem with warm starting 200 1988

You could pull the white 25A fuse in the engine compartment, right behind the battery. That would shut down the fuel system and might get you out of trouble on some cold morning.

Also, starting a flooded engine generally is helped by holding the throttle open. Lets the air in to help clear the plugs.

The warm start problem also could be caused by a bad fuel pump check valve. IF you're going in to replace a fuel filter, replace this as well. A few bucks, and it's right next to the filter.
