760 coil testing 700 1984

Well, the multimeter gauge was going crazy when I checked it on the + terminal with the ignition on II and when i checked it on the negative terminal while cranking the car over. The needle was going back and forth pretty drastically. Maybe this is the grounding/ungrounding you're talking about?
