As always start with the small stuff....
Swapping tires is a good suggestion. Find another shop - should be no problem - then try aligning it OR replace the inner tie rods then align it. However, check out that rack thoroughly first before replacing the inner tie rods. It would be a waste to replace the inner tie rods if the rack turned out to be bad as rebuilt racks normally come with new inner tie rods. FCP Groton has rebuilt racks. A boneyard rack might be okay and it might not..
How many miles on your cars? My rack died at about 180K.
