Sorry I don't know the right terminology, but I'll try to muddle through...
The fitting that threads into the MC has two male ends, the other one (at least) having a rounded tip.
The mating fitting on the brake line is conical in shape, and about an inch long -- this is typically called a "long nut" in parts store bins.
You need to put a double flare on the line so it will seal properly against the rounded end of the MC fitting. The other end of that line, where it goes into the junction block, is the standard one that usually comes on brake lines (3/8???).
None of it is metric.
