Will it work? 200

O.K. I guess I'm just an idiot (don't answer that) but I didn't think an ECU for a 3.0/3.1 system would work in a 2.4 system. The 3.0 has a throttle position sensor instead of just a throttle switch and I think they even have a different AMM.

When I bought my "89 240 the previous owner had installed a 572 ECU in it trying to get it to run but it wouldn't. I replaced the 25amp system fuse and was able to get the car to run but it ran REALLY badly and the check engine light came on. When I checked the engine codes, one of the codes said the throttle position sensor was bad and the other said there was a "missing signal from the AMM". I replace the ECU with a 556 (CA car with EGR) and it ran great. So I'm confused about the 572 working in a 2.4 car. Someone please help me understand!!

BTW! I have a good 572 ECU that I would like to sell or trade for one that works in my '89 240 (556, 561, 951, 933 or I think even a 928). Contact me off-line if you're interested.
