You could purchase a O2 Sensor Socket from your nearest auto parts store to make removal & installation easier. This socket is like your standard 3/8" deep socket with a slit down one side so the sensor wire can come out and not be in the way / pinched. I have one of the O2 Sensor Sockets and it make installation a breeze.
If you have enough room you can just use some PB Plaster and a open-end wrench to get the old one out. The new one should be installed finger-tight with a final 1/2-3/4 turn by the open-end wrench. Good Luck!
