So I've decided that I will buy myself an old Volvo for my 21st birthday. (which was yesterday) I've been looking for quite some time at the 1800s but the 122s have grown on me. As far as I can tell there isn't much difference between the two. I actually prefer to not have a car that is in great shape as I want to learn and make a project out of it. I also don't have that much money (hence the preference for the 122 over the 1800) I think I found one that is a contender about 100 miles away from me but, I'm not so sure. It seems to have a good deal of surface rust, bad brakes, decent interior and probably a long list of other mechanical problems. He wants $800 but I think I can talk him down a bit. I haven't actually seen the car yet but I plan on it. It's a 1960 122 and my limited research on the board tells me that this is a b16. How much harder is it to find parts for this car compared to the b18 and b20? Are there any advantages to having the slightly older car? I think I would prefer the '65-'67 range car but I can't seem to find any in my price range on the florida panhandle or even really that close. It seems the west coast guys have them all locked up. Where can I look for a 122 or 1800 in my price range?(<$200)

PS whats the deal with the seats on that car? It seems like a REALLY bad idea to have car seats that stop your shoulders. How many people snapped their necks before they figured that was a bad idea?
