Any downsides to the 5.0 302 Ford conversion? 200

The Ford engine isn't as long lived (durable) as the Volvo redblock, but otherwise starting with a new crate motor (or a very good upgraded rebuilt), you should still see a few hundred thousand miles of service.

What about using a 1990s GM 350 V-8 and Turbo-HydraMatic mated to a custom drive shaft? They were used in Chevy Caprices, and Caprices are known for their durability (often a few hundred thousand miles in police or NYC taxi service, both of which are very rough on a car).
