Those symptoms suggest charging system failure...remember the AMP light can come on only due to voltage across the lamp...under normal conditions, there is 12V on BOTH sides of the lamp (so it stays OFF)...loose the charging sys, and you drop one side (...get votalge across, light goes on), and loose the fuse, you drop the other side and results are the same (...get votalge across, light goes on)!
