OK on clarification...I do recall that baterries are sized by "groups".

A .5" cable should be fine (providing its connections are clean and tight)...are you saying that the last one was smaller? ....not so good...in this case, bigger is truly better!

I am looking (long term) at working up an upgrade kit for mounting an alt onto a B16, but it would only be in conjunction with changing to 12V. Although it could be done, I don't have the time to also do the R&D on modifying an alt regulator to change it to 6V.
