inner tie rods on a 240 wagon

The tie rod has a ball joint on each end. (One rod - two ball joints)

The outer ball joint is replaceble, as you know.

The inner joint is part of the tie rod (as Bob says, there is no "inner rod").

There shouldn't be any in-out play in either joint.

Play in the inner joint is easier to see if the rubber boot is pulled back.
