Short shifter console. 120-130

So finally I have the rebuilt B20 in the 122 and is ready to start up. Tomorrow is the big day. During the process I put a short shifter in. I used some flat iron to bracket across the hole on the tranny tunnel and am not worried about structural issues.
What I’m thinking of doing is building a removable wooden console so that in the future I can get the tranny out with some relative ease. I’m thinking of having it upholstered with a 240 console integrated.
Can folks who have done this shifter changeover lend some ideas, and some pics. I thought I saw some pics of this kind on a previous post, but couldn’t locate them.
