idle speed 700 1987

'87 740 GLE B230F engine. How do I reduce idle speed? Idle was fine (under 1000) until I took off flame trap to clean it out, reconnected hoses and connections I had to undo to get at flame trap, and now idle is 2500 and nothing I do brings it down. Would really appreciate some help with this. Thanks--ccb2. (imcbent@hotmail.com)
