automatic to 4 speed crossmember problem 120-130

Last year I picked up a 65 122 that a conversion to a 4 speed was begun.
the auto crossmember is still in place and sits back about 4 inches from the rear trans mount on the m40. no0 frame holes to move the crossmember like on the 140's what should I do?
