What kind of mechanic is this guy. A tree shade mechanic can do better than that. Sound to me like and oil pump problem. From a cold engine the pressure should go up to about 45psi and then go down to about 20psi idle speed in warm engine. Minimum pressure warm engine at 2000 rpm should be 35psi. The only other thing that would make the pressure drop to 0 at idle speed would be the hollow screws valves. But this is very unlikely.
