any rough estimates on value? my v8 got hit in parking lot . . . .

I've done a google search of the web, but not finding too many examples out there for sale (5). Average asking price is about $6,500. Does that sound about right?

FWIW, mine is an '83 245 GL with lots of upgrades (cobra-spec motor, GT40 heads, roller rockers, built AOD, bilsteins, mazda RX-7 turbo front calipers, big IPD bars, marchal lights, Hydra wheels, rebuilt interior, etc., etc.).

Other driver backed into the right front corner; car will probably need new fender, bottom plate, bumper, and air dam. Headlight and turn signal assemblies are toast. Front end of the inner fender will likely require some "professional massaging" so everything lines up. Corner of hood is bent too, but can probably be saved. I have a few of the small pieces on hand, and will be checking an '85 in the local PnP tomorrow AM

Not sure of the way ahead on this . . . I figure the other driver's insureance company will want to total the car, so I'm trying to get a good idea of value.

Right now I plan to fix the car, but it looks like my job ends on 30 SEP, so we'll have to see.

Took some pix, but can't figure out how to post them. Sorry.

Thanks in advance!

Because it is all superficial and a 'regular' 240 would be written off as a total loss, all you can do is produce receipts showing what you put into this modified car. Let the appraiser know that you do not intend to 'salvage' this car, you have spent too much time and effort into it. Be nice to the appraiser.

When my 1998 R was hit, the appraiser saw my other Volvos, clean and shiney, and decided that I was a Volvo nut and wanted to bring the R back to its former glory. He gave me plenty of money to let a shop do the fixing.

Thanks for the input. He'll likely see at least 2 1991 wagons I'm currently working on.

Fortunately I found an '85 at the PnP last weekend. I was able to get most of the stuff I'll need at a good price. I still need to find somebody to do the paint. That will likely be the most expensive part of this whole thing . . . .

      Thanks again!
