dana rear end and 4 wheel disk brake ????

I recently found out out that you can put a chevy v8 in a volvo. I'm interested in this swap but I have a few questions. I found a diesel volvo that I will be using for the swap. Is it true that diesel volvos came with dana 30 rear ends and 4 wheel disk brakes as the turbos did? How much horse power can I expect this rear end can take. How do you know if you have a dana as supposed to not having one. Any information will be greatly appreciated thanks....
