Hello again.
I'm almost ready to buy the radiator for the car. I already have a Ford Taurus fan.
I was thinking... does anybody have any experience with an aftermarket radiator? Instead of using the one JagsThatRun suggest (the Corvette C4 '80s), using a BeCool unit from Summit or something like that... any ideas?
In addition, my engine is a '96 Chevy LT1... the water pump is driven by a shaft that protrudes from the front of the camshaft... I was thinking of removing that, and installing an electric water pump from Summit. Then, also removing the thermostat.
That way, when the coolant temp reaches, say, 180F, the ECU turns on the water pump. When the coolant reaches, say 195F, the ECU turns on the Taurus fan in high speed (30Amps?).
What do you think about his setup?
Now that I'm into the cooling thing, I also wanted to install a heater hose block (like the one in the Volvo V8 conversion manual) on the passanger side of the engine compartment... That should give more clearance and easier access.
Thanks for the time! I'll keep you updated!
