That day I changed the oil, i took it out and drive it hard. When i accelerate hard through the gears and then come to a quick stop, a cloud of white smoke passes me by when i stop moving... Also, when i just accelerate hard and then stop accelerating and just cruise, sometimes i can see the white cloud of smoke behind me, and can always smell it inside the car... The car never did this before i changed the oil that weekend. I did get some of the old oil spilled onto the exhaust manifold from when i took off the filter because there's no way for me to not let it leak... I would have thought that it would have all burnt off by now and am thinking that something else is causing the smoke when i stop accelerating hard. Any ideas on what could be causing it???? I was thinking that possibly, the oil on the manifold isn't all gone, and it could be that the manifold is only getting really hot enough to burn it off when running the car up to 5k+ rpms... Or not...
edit: Oh and i forgot to mention that the oil is the same GTX 10W30 and the filter is the same Purolator PureOne filter that i've been using. Also, i think that sludge may have something to do with the fact that the filter was about 5k miles old, although i had put new oil in around 2.5k and had been topped it off with a total of about a quart in the last 3k miles... That was probably the reason for the sludge right? But doesn't have anything to do with my current smoking... or does it...?
Thanks in advance!
And i like what the advanced timing is feeling like George! Thanks!
