My 94 wagon manual suggests going down one size for winter to 185x65x15 for winter.

But generally you can go one size up or down depending on your driving.

For good info go to tirerack.com, specically their tech tips: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tiretech/techpage.jsp?techid=31

All your tires questions answered by experts and not snot nosed kid at tire store trying to make quota.

My '96 850 sedan calls for 195/60-15 tires. I have mostly used the factory size on it, though 205/55-15s worked fine the time I used them as well.

If you car calls for 195/60s and you install 195/65s the only real problem would likely be that your speedometer would be off such that your actual speed would be higher than the indicated speed due to the larger outer diameter of the 65 aspect ratio tire. Generally I would not put 195/65s on your car. Either use the factory size or 205/55s.

sorry, the sticker on the door recommends 195x60x15, not 65.
thanks bob

I've only had 195/60 R15s on my car but I normally run 42psi front/40psi rear. The extra 5% in height shouldn't make that much of a difference if your suspension is in good shape as it's only 19.5mm taller tire overall. It may rub on the wheel well liner in tight turns.
