Gents,

Hope you can provide some advice.
A whistling noise is coming from what I believe is the tranny just before each gear change when the engine is cold (just after start-up on cold Canadian mornings). Duration of the whistling is from 1 to 3 seconds depending on acceleration at each up-shift and only lasts about 3 minutes after start-up until the engine is warm.
A tranny flush was done 10k km ago and is still redish.

    Sounds like a vacuum line and/or air pump and not necessarily the tranny? Shifting okay otherwise? I had this some time ago on my old 850 ('94) and was concerned so took it to the dealer. They found nothing wrong. It had warmed up by the time the dealer had seen it. When I was driving it and it whistled, it was very cold outside. I wouldn't worry about it unless you're getting some other irregularities.

      Shifts great - no problems there.
      Now that the cold spell is gone so is the noise.
