Honda radio into a '94 854 ? 850 1994

AM/FM/CD player is a factory radio from a 1998 Honda Accord.

Model # on the radio backside: 39100-S84-A200

The dimensions seem about the same as the OE SC-811 that's in the 850 now. Anybody know if this will slide in with no or minimal modifications ? My wife's whining for a CD player, and if this one works, it's lots easier & cheaper than finding an 815, 816 or a trunk changer.

Thanks in advance !

Having just replaced the stock radio in my 1995 850 (whichever one was the AM/FM/tape deck w/6 speakers), I find even my new modestly-priced ($85) aftermarket head unit and $20 worth of wiring adaptors and single-din pocket far better than the original radio. It plays CDs (audio, CD-R, CD-RW), decodes mp3s, has more AM & FM presets and (most importantly) a line-level input. The only downsides are that I have too many choices of things to listen to now and the entire display lights up.

Having some time to think about it (but too long to edit my original post), as long as the Honda radio fits in the opening in your 850's dash (it's two seperate single DIN openings - a double DIN radio I originally got would not fit), you could get a wiring harness for the 850 and splice it to the connectors on the backside of the Honda unit. $5 would get you the wiring harness and perhaps $10 in wire strippers/crimpers, the appropriate terminals for the Honda radio an an hour or so to wire it all up. Going with a new head unit that already has a wiring harness for it will make it much easier, though - I installed mine in 15 minutes flat while sitting in the driver's seat.
