Instructions for timing belt replacement V70-XC70 1998

I got a nice 1998 V70 due for Timing belt replacement.
I've done this job on many cars, including numerous RWD bricks.
V70 appears to be a bit harder, as I see little space to work in.

I would appreciate step by step instructions including those for replacement of serpentine belt. Tips and suggestions are very welcome.
I understand 1998 was the cut over year, and some of these cars use hydraulic tensioner and some mechanical. I plan on replacing it as well.

Who has the best parts for the money ?

Thanks in advance !!!!

Here is what you need V70-XC70 1998

I did mine in 2004 and wrote it up.

    1. Parts:
    I bought from www.autohausaz.com
Make sure TB is made by Conti-tech (supplier for BMW, Porsche, VW, Volvo,. Saab etc.)

    2. Serpentine Tool trick (it is a square, not Allen bolt):

    4. If you mileage above 120K consider:
    -water pump
    -cam seals x 2
    -crank seal x1

5.MY DETAIED WRITE-UP. Go through it carefully:

The job actually involves going inside the right front fender where there is a flap you bend aside.

Go to Volvospeed for directions in the repairs section.

A lot of brick owners deal with FCP Groton for Volvo parts.
    www.fcpgroton.com/volvo.htm

Look at the advertisers on this site, I got a great deal on an emergency brake cable a couple of years ago from partsamillion that I found here.

Dealer $125, local jobber $75, partsamillion $14 !!! It fit perfectly, looked like a high quality piece, and came in a bag marked "made in Sweden"

IMHO - A timing belt is no place to save money, go with a Volvo part. (FCP Groton sells Volvo parts)

FYI, Contitech is the OEM for Euro cars V70-XC70 1998

      http://www.contitech.de/

      Contitech makes:
      -TB
      -drive belts
      -rubber technology

      for:
      -BMW
      -Volvo
      -Mercedes
      -VW
      -Audi
      -Porsche

So no need to worry. If you buy Contitech, you buy quality. Volvo does not make any of these parts. The only thing original from the car is the engine + chassis.

Everything else comes from third parties.
      -Gauges...VDO
      -Tires...Micheline
      -Thermostat...Wahler or Behr

      etc. and etc.

So knowing which supplier (Contitech) for which part (TB), you can buy Contitech and IT IS EXACTLY THE SAME AS VOLVO Parts, for less cost.
