SC-900 Magazine Stuck

I'm having issue with the CD magazine on the SC-900 player in the V70. I hit 'eject' and the magazine/magazine holder comes out to it's initial "fully extended outward postion", but it stops there. It just grinds there in that postion for about 10-15 seconds and eventually retreats back in. It's worth noting that the magazine will not come out at any point, either. How might I go about fixing this? TIA

You are going to have to remove the front of the radio and manually remove the holder and the CD that is stuck in the radio. It is the stuck CD that is the problem.

Right on the money, Klaus. Empty magazine, and a flippin' Kenny G CD jammed in the player from the previous owner. Can't say I blame the CD player - that crap would have messed me up, too.

Procedure: First removed the rectangular plastic piece that goes around the edge of the magazine holder - two screws on each side. Then removed the face plate - two screws on each side and it pops off. Then removed the metal top cover - two screws on the back and it pops up off. Then took the CD player portion out of the the unit - two screws on the inside and two (of the ten) screws on the back. The CD player portion then lifts out of the unit. If you're this far, you should be able to carefully fiddle around and manipulate the jammed CD out.

NOTE: When you're loading the magazine back in again for the first time after you've fixed it, load it in without any discs in it. It should run through it's cycle (looking in all 3 slots for a CD) and spit the magazine back out. See, when I loaded mine up again for the first time (with discs in there), it gave me a message that said "Error-02", and ate up my doggone CD again. (At least I knew how to get it out of there quickly.) When I loaded it up with an empty cartridge, it still gave the error message at first - but it cycled through and now works.
