Surprisingly unhelpful replies--we're supposed to be providing information and assistance to our fellow bricksters, not sophomoric abuse. Arro, I recommend that you take a look at http://www.volvospeed.com/maintenance.shtml#Filters The instructions for the 850 are pretty close to the S40. In fact, I've found that almost everything I've needed to do on my 2000 S40 has been very close if not identical to the 850. The volvospeed site provides lots of good info specific to the S40 as you'll see. Good luck and God bless.
