If it's the front ,you'll have to replace the wheel hub ( comes with bearing ).
volvospeed .com has a 6 page breakdown with pictures on how to replace one .
I'm doing one now .
Napa $154 , $106 garage cost

You really can't grease them. You'll need to replace. It's anywhere from $115 for FAG or SKF, or $149 for OEM (www.fcpgroton.com) and you have to take the control arm (A-arm) off the spindel as well as the axle to do this. It's not bad, but takes some time. If you do one side, you should consider doing both. Look at all of your suspension parts while down there and change out what needs to be changed at the same time. You'll need an alignment when you're finished.

I just had the dealer do both of mine: $133.95 each plus tax minus my 10% discount. Labor charge was $$$.
It was already on the lift for some other work and I got lazy!

I know how it is...I always do my own oil changes ('04 too) but the other day the V70 was in for a under warranty software upload and since it was time, I just paid them to do the oil change ($32) and I brought my own Mobil-1 in. It was so hot outside that I actually felt good about it.
