'new' '94 850 turbo 850

I just purcased a 1994 850 turbo for my son. After driving it home 600 miles from WV, my son and I began the process of making it ours, oil change, tune up, radio code, cleaning, etc. I do most of the work on my family fleet of cars (three of which are volvos). I have never owned a turbo before so I am not sure exactly how it works or what mechanical considerations must be made. I hear tell of an oil cooler. Where is it? And must I drain that separately at oil change time? Should it be cleaned? The book says 5.6 quarts plus .90 quart (for the turbo) = 6.5 quarts is that right?
Thanks,
John

Fun car! When I replace oil and filter, I let it drain for about 1/2 hour to get out the very last drop. The oil cooler is in the radiator and cannot be drained, as is the transmission cooler, the oil lines are on the passenger side, tranny on the driver's side.
Flush the tranny by disconnecting the top line and drain/fill 2 quarts at a time until the fluid is nice and pink, usually about 12 quarts of Dextron/Mercron. Very easy to do, and should be done every 30K miles.
Cleaning the oil separator under the intake manifold should also be done, put it on your calendar.
The turbo is not a problem, except for the oil return line gasket failing after a while and dribbling a spot of oil on the driveway. Bay13 has pics to show you how to fix that.
The turbo will last as long as the engine, so long as the oil stays clean.
