94 855 rear doors stuck 850

Hello,

I am working on a friend's recently acquited '94 855T, and both rear doors are stuck closed. The lock button does not come up all the way, no matter how hard I pull on them. I assume I have to take the doorpanel off, but I think that the clips to remove it face down, so they are now inaccessible.
Has anyone dealt with this?
TIA,

Balu

    Balu,

What are you doing working on these modern cars??? The 700/900 need to have the door open. There are no clips/screws on the bottom of the 850 door. Take the speaker cover off and take a look.
Sounds like a little rust. Can you unscrew the lock button and douse the insides with WD40?
This car is probably a hurricane car.

      Hi Klaus,

Thanks, I will try your advice next weekend, when I will have the car again. I am working on it for him, I might as well learn something about the newer cars!
My friend bought it from a sleazy dealer against all my resevations. He wanted a Volvo and needed a car NOW. Has 160k miles and it does run great. At least he bought a '92 744 for his wife.
I went through the 855T today, and it seems to need little other than wear parts (tailgate struts, wiper blades, taillights totally oxidized, whine from PS pump or alternator, probably former; right inner CV boot throwing out grease).
Interesting note about hurricane, I did not even think of that. We'll see what I find inside the door!
      Thanks for you wisdom,

      Balu
