Klaus & others: considering 03 XC & 04 XC

Hi All,
Back to looking at XC`s for purchase. My wife looked at two XC`s yesterday at the local dealer.
03 XC @ 42K miles, asking 30K. All service records(of course). Black with graphite interior, wife`s loves blk!
04 XC @ 58K miles, asking 29K. Major service just completed as per schedule. Dark blue ext., sport pkge.
Prices may seem high but as I`ve mentioned in previous posts these are CDN prices & local market seems to command fairly high prices. Of course, there is some "wiggle room" here too as it`s a cash deal. I`d like to negotiate some some items into the deal, ie. a set of wheels for the winter tires, wind deflector for the sun roof, etc.
Input?
Cheers!
Rich

Klaus & others: considering 03 XC & 04 XC

Rich,
Both of those cars are nice. With your wife driving 100 miles a day, the 03 will match the 04 milage in about 6 months!
The newer the better, in my book. I prefer a car driven on the highways to one that spent it's time not cooking the engine oil and under 2,000 rpm.

You will find that winter tires are not needed with awd, just good tread. As for the sunroof deflector, my SR doesn't let a bunch of air in at 70mph. I would ask for a full set of rubber mats, including the cargo area! And a set of load bars, which are optional anyway.

Klaus
