Removing Lumbar Support Knob

I've been trying to remove the lumbar support knob to replace the seat cover on the back.

I followed Rich Kelley's suggestions (in the seat cable instructions@ Bay13) but the knob just won't come loose.

Is there some trick to this? Is the SVC70 seatback different from the 850?

The passenger seat knob won't come loose either, so I don't think it's the car. It's me. Has anyone done this on a SVC70?

Thanks!

    Bill,
It is the same as the 850. I just went to the garage and tried my darndest on both the 850 and the V70, neither would come off. And I had the one on the 850 off last summer. Must be the temperature.

      Thanks! I got it off!

Man, if they screwed the rest of the car together that well, it really would be "Volvos for life"!

More fun is coming when you are done with the seat back cable and try to screw the knob back :-)

I couldn't do it for almost 6 months and all of a sudden, it went back in !!!!

        Go figure.

Replacing it did require finessing it a bit, but it still took less than 5 minutes!
