odometer failure, but not the gears 850 1995

I have a 95 850 GLT (non-turbo) that has a failed odometer and Cruise Control (not sure if these problems are linked, maybe a speed sensor somewhere perhaps?). The cruise control vacuum lines all loook just fine, no crakcs or breaks.

The Speedo works fine, the ABS light is off and no A2, A3 or B2 fault codes (all showing 1-1-1).

I've had the odometer out and all the gears are intact, no broken teeth. Anyone out there have any other suggestions about what I might check? Could it be the Odo motor failing?

Thanks Klaus,

Yes, B2 is 1-2-2. On A7 though all I get is a quick flash and no codes. Tried three times (key off, connector out, key on to position 2 then connector in).

Have you ever seen a wiring diagram for the Inst. cluster posted so I can more closely inspect which circuits (affecting the odo/trip motor) may be damaged?

K

I still haven't figured out how you get a 1-1-1 on B2, I always get 1-2-2 :)

Have you checked port A-7 ? That is for the instrument panel. Sounds like the connectors in the rear of the panel are not tight, or the board has a crack. If the speed sensor failed, there would be errors every where.

The 164 has a new home, all I am left with are a 95 854T and a 98 V70R :)
