03 XC70 trans axle diff. leak

Hi,
Wife just took her XC in for an oil change @ local quick lube yesterday. Anyway, she was told that there is a leak in the transaxle differential.
The car is quickly running out of warranty miles & this sounds expensive(well, everything is expensive on these cars!!),
Any advice other than getting it into the dealer ASAP.
Thanks,
Rich

    Rich,
If the bevel gear is leaking, the unit must be replaced. You are talking major loonies. Don't let the dealer just pump out the old fluid and put in new, that will not fix the over-pressure, only delay the inevitable.
This is a common problem which should not have happened to an 2003 model. Common to 1997-2001.

Then, the oil change guys don't know a transaxle from a tranny, so have the dealer take a good look.

    Klaus
