Oil spilling on top of engine 850 1995

I have cleaned the flame trap(PCV). I am still having the same problem. Does anyone have the procedure for cleaning out or replacing the PVC system to solve this problem. Thankyou.

Jeffery is right. Replace the rubber seal on your oil cap. It gets hard after a few years and the oil works it's way past. What you have to do though is take off the plastic cover and mop up all the oil that has run down the side of the filler underneath it and into the spark plug wells and other entrapments. There's a lot bigger mess under that plastic cover than you realize, if you haven't looked already. Had the same problem with my two 850's. Buy a couple of the rubber seals at your dealer, along with four or five of the aluminum washers that fit your oil plug, and throw them in the center console between the seats, along with a tire gauge and all the oddball instrument and center console bulbs. I always keep a 10mm box end wrench there as well for taking loose the battery cables and cleaning them. Dick

I would check your oil cap seal, it may be compressed and not sealing well after years of use. It's only a few bucks and could save you a lot of hassle.
