Removing the stereo question V70-XC70 2002

No, it is more than this. You need to remove that narrow plate with a 'penholder" below the stereo console - pry it off gently from both sides. Underneath you'll see some screws, they have to come out for the radio to be removed.
There are threads on the Web on this procedure - look under in-dash cup holder installation, this includes radio removal
