Stuck on CV Boot Replacement, how to remove caliper w/out disassembly? S70 1998

I am in the middle of following the instructions on Bay13 (Volvospeed) and it says to take out the two retaining bolts and remove caliper and hang on strut.

I got the two bolts out but can't figure out how to release the pressure on the pads so that the caliper assembly will slide off the disk.

Can I do this without any further disassembly?

Can anyone out there give me a quick tip?

(you can probably tell -- I have never changed by pads/rotar DIY before)

Thanks, Calvin

Use a screwdriver and pull off the spring clip. Then it will slide off. You would have been better off removing the slide pins and letting the caliper come apart. That would have also let you examine the slide pins for dirt and regrease them.

I ended up doing as you suggested.

Now I'm trying to get the joint off. Not wanting to come loose.

      Thanks Klaus
