I have my Throttle Position Sensor off the car and need info on how to bench test it w/ a voltmeter. Anyone know the proper resistance values?

Thanks again for the reference values. Here are the resistance values from my Throttle Position Sensor (Part # 0280122001 or 1336385):
1278 ohms
4000 ohms
What do you think? Are those far enough off to indicate problem?

Your resistance readings are on the high side indicating a possible sensor problem. But you didn't get a 4-1-1 so the ECU might be handling this situation.

First: your 1-1-3 code. Check the air hose from the air filter to the throttle body for cracks or other leaks. Also check the vacuum tree for the same. Unmetered air coming into the intake manifold will give you this code.

Now, the TPS. Your testing has me a little confused. The 3-3-2 only happens when the throttle is closed, idle. The 3-3-3 is at WOT. There is nothing between or when the throttle leaves either position.
I would get the TPS squeeky clean and reinstall it and clean up the air leak before any more testing.

RE: 1-1-3 code I can't find any vacuum leaks but I'm headed out again in a few minutes for another look-see. I can't eyeball from ANY angle or with ANY mirror angle the vacuum connections at Oil Separator. Might the intake manifold have to be removed to even inspect those connections? That would bug BIG time.

How would I get a TPS "squeaky clean?" It appears to be hopelessly sealed, but if I decide to order new one, I might perform exploratory surgery.

RE: the 3-3-2 code. With throttle closed, at idle, I got NO OBD code flashed. With WOT, I got the 3-3-2 code, not the expected 3-3-3 code (which never appeared at any throttle opening). That seemed to indicate a TPS problem?

The lines coming out of the oil separator never seems to fail, the air from the engine fan seems to keep them fairly cool. What does fail early is the vacuum elbow behind the PS pump, very hard to see the line as it is covered with the intake port for #1. Also check the vacuum tree itself for cracks.

I don't understand why the failure of the TPS to check itself out properly. The TPS does not have any bearing to the 1-1-3 fault. The long term trim is due to unmetered air entering the intake manifold.

I learned from this forum that my car (manual trans) doesn't have the infamous "hidden elbow" behind PS pump.

How often does the intake manifold gasket fail enough to let through problematic amts of air?

Would ignition problems (like a bad plug / rotor, etc) affect driveability at most speeds? Car drives 100% except at idle.

I have a question about testing switches but think I should post a new thread . . .

Before I pitch it in trash, are you 100% certain that it's the same Throttle Position Sensor that my 850 has (Bosch # 0280122001, alternate part #1336385)? Are those #'s from a printed source or from your own measurements (I'd prefer the latter, given your experience)?
