Fuel leak on injector rail (with pic) S70

Greetings
I got a fuel leak coming from... well... I don't know what it is called... hence the post and need to fix it.
I first noticed a strong smell of gas, and noticed this fuel leak

What is that thing called and how does it come off?

Looks a lot like a fuel pressure pulse dampner:

You need to remove the 2 10mm aluminum bolts that hold the injector rail down. Loosen the fuel line at the top of the engine. Then carefully pull the injectors out, 1 by one. I used a 17mm box wrench to help pry them out. Do not pull them out using the fuel rail!! And don't drop the reusable injector seals behind the intake manifold, you will never see them again :)

Once the injectors are out, turn the fuel rail over and you will see small nuts holding the injectors to the rail and the pulse dampner. The dampner has an O ring that probably failed. Very unusual for this to happen.

Got it out and it isn't leaking anymore! Thanks Klaus
Here is a picture of the old one I pulled out... there is a definate gap inside the damper that is not present on the new one... which I'll deduce was the source of my woes.
      Cheers!

Is this a pic of the old one or the new one? A pic of both would make it easier to see what you mean.

Greedy today are we? The new one can be seen on FCP Groton. The important thing is that it no longer leaks!
Good find, those leaks are very difficult to deduce. Most people would assume an injector leak.

haha I guess maybe a little greedy. I was just looking to have a comparison in case I (or anyone else) ever run in to the same problem... I can look on FCP myself though :)
