Will better swaybars make a BIG diff?? 850 1997 GLT TURBO

I was wondering, all other factors being stock, will swaybars make a BIG difference in handling? or is it like an "added" goodie like the icing on a cake?

It will make quite a noticeable difference on the standard suspension setup. I did the lowering springs and Bilsteins first and then did the IPD anti-roll bars and even then noticed quite a reduction in body roll. Of course, the car still rolls when pushed hard in the corners but hey, this is a 3,500 lb. sedan on a non-too sophisticated suspension. It will never out-handle a lighter and more agile car like a 3-series or something. Not knocking Volvos or anything, I love my 850 turbo but I'm just telling it like it is.

Depends on the meaning of the word "big" 850 1997 GLT TURBO

I've had 'em for about 4 years, and they do make a big improvement. (From body roll that's "very annoying" to just "annoying".) My car was delivered with the factory sport suspension, so the incremental improvement shouldn't be as much as in a GLT. Of course, the car is a station wagon, and there is really nothing I can do to make it handle like a Porsche. Sigh.

if you're on stock suspension, it will make a HUGE difference when you corner. if you've already lowered your car with stiffer springs n shox, it will in all probability be "only" a noticeable difference.

i did the IPD bars before any other suspension mod. imho it is simply the BEST performance mod one can do in the handling dept.

I thought it was very noticeable when I did mine a year ago, more than I thought it would be so I'd say "big difference".
