HI
Does anyone know of a scanner That will access and read all the codes on a volvo 96+ besides check engine light?
sofware? scanner? anything
I am at the point where i need to reset the SRS light on 2 96 850's and being that the cost of 100+ a pop will put me close to getting my own set up..if there is one

So does anyone know

Ps: the airbag system is fine...just need to reset the light to make it functional again!

Seem like i found the answer..
Get a OBD2 cable to either usb or serial connector
a laptop running volvo fcp v1.3 (this is a volvo scan tools emulator)

And away we go..can access all of what the volvo dealer can..and reset any lights..

just ordered the cable..(its special for volvo)

i'll report how it goes....

I have such a cable and use it for my audi's. It's the same OBD2 connection as my 850. I don't think the cable is special to volvo? Where did you get the fcp v1.3 and what exactly is it??

The software seems to be a emulations of the volvo's official software! and from my research these cables are not just simple obd2 and from what i can tell in order for the software to work certain pins need to be used in the connector..so a simple obd2 to usb would not work..

I bought one at autozone, a bare bones pocketscan plus, on sale for 49 bucks and it clears everything except the service light.
