So the car cranks, turns over, but doesn't start, right? Like the others have keyed in on, it sure sounds like a fuel issue. If that is the case, it will only get worse, causing a no-start condition or stalling on the highway.
Try "priming" the fuel system by turning the key to pos II for about 5 seconds before turning further to engage the starter. That will allow the fuel pump a little more time to build pressure and with any luck will make it start with less cranking. If that helps, or your fuel filter hasn't been replaced in the last 100K miles, consider replacing it.
