Breaking system Noise S40-V40 2000

I had a problem with my breaking system that was repaired. Never before did I hear the "vacuum pump" that assists the breaking system. Since the repair, the sound is getting more and more pronounced, sometimes lasting up to 5 minutes after starting the car. Is something going on here?

    I don't know if it's normal or not without hearing it. However, I've gone through like 3 fuses for my vacuum. I know it's blown when I step on the brake after first starting up the car and the brakeing power lacks severely. It's possible your fuse was blown and that's why you never heard it?

    I wish I knew why my fuse blows so much, but since the pump comes on all the time, and it only blows every 8,000 miles or more, I don't know what the problem could be.

    Is the sound to which you are referring a clicking and suction type of sound when braking? I hear it sometimes on my car but could really pinpoint it.

      I hear the noise when I first start the car. You hear the noise when you press on the break pedal for the first few minutes after starting the car. I had major break work done about a month ago. I never EVER heard this sound before, now i hear it every day. At first i thought it was a grinding but your clicking and suction sound is a good thought too. The dealer told me that was normal....i just want to know why i never heard it before. it is annoying and other people think there is something wrong with the car as i have never heard anything similar in any other car.
